A structural issue with Penny Stock Investing

The journey from the beginning of a new business to actually achieving a multi-year profitable company, like wow, goal achieved! Because that journey is fraught with so many obstacles that no matter how good the new product or service is, it is likely to fail as a business (or new gold mine ;)

Then, if that business chooses to fund it's development publicly and become a publicly traded company instead of a privately built company, then that takes things to a whole other level.

Many retail investors invest into the idea/product/service/commodity because, of course, that's the business! When really, my message is, invest in the asset class as a piece of a bigger portfolio, not your whole portfolio, and maybe know some of the main features of how the asset class works as well..... like the main feature being, they all generally move together when they move and it's only every 3 or 4 years. Structural issue: long swing cycle.
